The Criminal Investigations Division is led by Sergeant Matthew Schaefer.
There are five full time Investigators, one Sergeant, who also handles professional standards for the department, and one full time Administrative Assistant.
The Criminal Investigations Division is assigned a myriad of tasks, but the primary duty is investigating crimes occurring within the City of Lake Mary. The investigators represent the agency on various county-wide and regional task forces targeting drug enforcement, financial crimes, domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault.
