About Lake Mary and Its Police Department

The City of Lake Mary focuses on promoting a sense of community where people can live, work, and play in a safe and friendly environment. Lake Mary continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in the Orlando, Florida metropolitan area. The City is a choice location for Fortune 500 companies, state of the art medical facilities, and innovative high-tech businesses alike. Lake Mary is known for its thriving residential communities, excellent schools, and a variety of outstanding restaurants and shopping opportunities.

The Lake Mary Police Department serves a residential population of 17,423 residents in a span of approximately ten square miles. The commercial businesses and educational institutions draw an additional 35,000 people to the City daily. The Chamber of Commerce is one of the oldest in the State of Florida, which was organized in 1923.

The department has 49 sworn, full-time officers, including patrol, K-9, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, community relations, and two reserve officers. In addition, the department employs one Code Enforcement Officer and seven civilian personnel. The officers in Lake Mary strive to get to know the community and build positive relationships with the people they serve. Our Community Relations Division hosts several large-scale community events each year and provides our communities and businesses with safety tips and recommendations.
