Comprehensive Plan

A Comprehensive Plan is a planning document that provides guidance for the future growth and development of a city. Based on community input, a comprehensive plan establishes a collective vision for the future of the community and sets goals and objectives to help achieve that vision. In short, a comprehensive plan can be considered a "road map" that is used to guide a community toward a more desirable future with improved quality of life for the people that live and work in that community.

Comprehensive Plan Update / Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR)

The City of Lake Mary Community Development Department is currently working on a massive update to the City's Comprehensive Plan. State law requires that municipalities complete an Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) of their comprehensive plan every seven years. The EAR process is the principle review process for updating local comprehensive plans to reflect changes in local conditions and state policy concerning planning and growth management. This evaluation is a year long process that will be completed by July 2025.
